Historic Twin Pines Boathouse on Loon Lake
1905 Arts & Crafts Boathouse
Loon Lake House
Twin Pines Boathouse is an extraordinary and unique home on Loon Lake. This historically important Boathouse was a center piece of the famous turn of the century Loon Lake House resort and is architecturally exquisite inside and out.
The boathouse was designed by Henry Wilkinson, an architect and furniture designer for Stickley. Wilkinson designed several important buildings in Manhattan as well as custom furniture.
Twin Pines is the ideal summer retreat! It is large enough to accommodate a 20 foot boat and several canoes. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen workspace and a Great Room with custom designed and carved reliefs of local wildflowers, wood beams and a large brick and stone fireplace. The Great Room has the feel of an Adirondack museum.
The windows of the seasonal boathouse have diamond panes and look out on Loon Lake with direct view of magnificent sunsets. The charm of the boathouse is largely due to the harmony and appropriateness of woods and the colors. The woodwork alone is show stopping.
cribbing foundation of the boathouse was replaced in 2004
